ABOUT ADEM
Moving California forward.
Becoming an Assembly District Delegate is a fantastic opportunity for you to join these efforts, step up your political activism, and help us shape California’s future.
Role of Delegates
At CADEM, we are “Forever Organizing,” engaging in long-term coalition and community building because we know there are no “off-years” in building the Democratic base. Becoming an Assembly District Delegate is a fantastic opportunity for you to join these efforts, step up your political activism, and help us shape California’s future.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Increase your political impact by voting for the endorsements of the California Democratic Party for partisan legislative and statewide office in California,
- vote for positions we take on the Ballot Propositions,
- build a community with passionate and diverse California Democrats,
- take on greater responsibility as a voice for your local district when establishing the official California Democratic State Platform (in even-numbered years), and
- elect 16-25 CADEM Regional Directors who function as your liaison between the California Democratic Party, County Central Committees, and Democratic Party Clubs
Since we know that winning campaigns and enacting progressive change requires year-round effort — And ALL hands-on deck — we, as a party, are upping our game to fight for the soul of this nation. For you, as an aspiring Assembly District Delegate, that means expanding the definition of what it looks like to take on the privilege of this role.
While our annual California Democratic Party State Convention is a significant responsibility for every delegate, Convention is only the beginning! As an Assembly District Delegate, you will also be a local advocate, an organizer, and a fundraiser. Your leadership will bridge local activism and our statewide efforts to Contest Every Race up and down the ballot!
That is why you are needed.
Representing Community
Assembly District Delegates (ADD) of the Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) are responsible for planning and attending informational meetings throughout the CDP Regions and working with other CDP delegates throughout California to represent their community.
By connecting your WHY with our MISSION, we can work to create a California that leads the world as a model of economic prosperity and economic justice. We can uphold reproductive rights, defend democracy, and safeguard our planet for future generations.
Let’s move California forward together, for all.
